Defense : Wrestler Type Takedown

Hi All,
This technique deals with someone who is trying to take you down MMA style ,
so they can do the ground and pound on you ,(sit on your chest and punch down
on your face ) even though you can get him off by turning your head and biting
the inside of his leg,punching him in the groin ect. It's best not to get in to that
position at all .
Most of the time they will try to get you to raise your arms up by doing some
type of punch or upper body movement and then shoot in to take you down
by grabbing your legs.
You can defeat this by staying at your safe distance (just out of kicking range)
if they step in and raise their arms as if to punch ,front straight kick them in the groin
this should bend them over, step forward with your kicking leg and wrap your
arm around their neck and apply a forearm choke , now just streach your legs out
and lay your body on top of their head (you will both be laying flat on the ground,you on top)keeping the choke,you will be facing one way they will be facing
the other direction (their body----><-----your body) this technique is VERY Lethal
as there is not very much they can do to get out of it, just choke them into submission,
you can seriously injure some one with this.
There are many ways to do this technique this is just one of them.
Be very careful when practicing this one.

Technique for October

How to Push Someone Down with Attitude

This is a quick technique to move some one out of the way ,if you don't want to
fight them and they won't take "get out of my face "as a hint.

You are facing them and standing in a neutral stance, non threatening posture.
Keeping your safe distance from them.(just out of kicking range)
Put your hands up to chest level as if to reason with them,say " hey i don't want any trouble".

When they decide they want to get hurt and start moving toward you , close the distance on them by taking a quick step to their center line (middle of their body) .With your hands up to cover your face (you want to close the distance on them as they step forward ,before they can punch)take a big step between their legs with your strong side ,what you want to do is step through them, as you do this put your hand on their chest and extend your arm, this will push them off their feet and on to the ground hard !

Most of the time this will get your message across with out hurting them too badly.
This technique can be changed in an instant to various degrees of deadly,
you can open your hand and put it in their throat,you can punch to their nose,you can punch
2 in below their chest and knock the air out of them at the solar plexus,you can shin kick them
in the groin as you punch or push them down.

I was late this month with the technique so i thought i'd give you a little extra to work on.

Technique of The month

Hi All,
This technique is pretty basic,
Your opponent is throwing a straight left punch to your face,
from your safe distance(just outside the length of his leg) you are facing him as the punch approaches you turn sideways like a door opening and do a right down block ,hitting his arm
with the hard part of your arm just below the wrist let your hand slide down and catch his wrist
and hold,as you are doing this ,you do a right side kick to his ribs ,you still have hold of his wrist
so he can't move away from you. Now let go of his wrist as you do step down from doing the kick
and put your foot down so you are close to him squat down into a full horse and right backhand
his groin, this will bend him over putting him off balance,reach down with your right hand from the squatting position (full horse) grab the inside of his ankle and pull up and stand up at the same time
this will drop him on his back, keep hold of his ankle turn toward him and left stomp on his groin.

Be careful when practicing this technique you can easily break your partners ribs if you kick too
hard because your are holding him in one place he can't move away from the kick. Also make sure you and your partner know how to do a breakfall also so you don't hit your head on the take down.
Note:your turning , blocking ,grabbing his wrist and side kicking all at the same time, this should be one fluid movement , then do the rest of the technique.

Kung Fu San Soo

Thought I would give you a little history about Kung Fu San Soo.
Kung Fu San Soo as loosely translated from Chinese to English means,
a man learned ,articulate and active in the use of his hands in hand to hand combat with another
man.
Since the Chinese monks that developed this fighting art kept knowledge of San Soo much to
themselves , the exact details of it's origin and development are obscure.
What we do know is that over 2300 yrs ago 5 families of monks combined their knowledge
and Kung Fu San Soo evolved into one of the first organized systems of hand to hand combat.
Each family developed a different part of the art.
They are,
* TSOI - Punching & Kicking
* LI - Leverage
* Hoi - Pressure Points
* Fut - Psychology
* Hung - Power

Kung Fu San Soo is not a sport. It is a fighting technique, based on a combination of strikes,
kicks, blocks and leverages done in a perfect rhythm.
The strikes are directed at the vital areas of the human body.
It's techniques can be changed instantly to suit any situation and do not follow a set pattern.
Principles of physics involving movement and leverage as well as intense concentration and controlled breathing give a San Soo fighter maximum power.
Self confidence , agility,balance,coordination,humility and respect of one's fellow man are also
emphasized.
Since you never know a persons character and who is a fighter and who is not,
you always respect everyone unless they give you a reason not to.
The techniques I put up on this site are Kung Fu San Soo , since you can change them to suit any situation there is no end to the techniques you can do, I have thousands of them written down
and more in books that are distributed by San Soo Associations around the world.

Offensive Mind Set

Hi All,
As some of my friends pointed out I've been straying from the base idea of my blog.
The offensive techniques of kung fu.
I have and i haven't because i do post an offensive kung fu technique every month !
When i see something that gets my interest i will post it here.
Right now I'm shamelessly promoting my booklet : The use of Lines,Angles and Circles in Hand to Hand Combat , in it i break down the lines of movement that are hidden in every martial art.

French Savate

Hi All,
Watched a very good martial arts show on cable called Human Weapon, they had a very interesting show on French Savate. I have heard of it but never really studied it very much.
I was missing out , this fighting style is very effective for street fighting .
Devastating kicks ,punches and sweeps , all the methods are geared for one thing
disabling your opponent.
I will be adding some dvd's and books to my collection.
This art also covers cane fighting, Excellent !!

Multiple Opponents / Fight or Flight

When faced with more than one opponent , the normal reaction of most people is to
haul a** out of that situation ! That is the correct thing to do.
But sometimes you have no choice .
If you find yourself confronted by 2 or more persons that intend to do you harm, in most cases
the" baddest "of the group will be the first to approach. You drop him quick , without hesitation or mercy in front of the rest of the group so they have to go around or over him to get at you. A lot of the time this will be enough to make the rest hesitate long enough for you to get away.

But if not, you always want to keep who ever you are dealing with in between you and the rest of the group or if you have your hands busy use your legs,side kicks and front kicks are some of your more powerful weapons, groin shots ,knee breaks or rib shots are in order.

Improvised weapons , whatever is handy, rocks,dirt in the eyes, your key chain to the face,rolled up magazine ,pencil ,pen,book anything that's harder than skin can be used.
You use whatever is necessary to make sure you walk away !
